The terms governing your use of Mediscanner. Please read them carefully — by using the site you agree to them.
By accessing or using Mediscanner (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors and users.
Mediscanner provides general health information, outbreak awareness data, educational content and games. All content — including the symptom checker, disease map, virus profiles, local-outbreak summaries and news — is provided for general information and education only.
Data presented may be aggregated, illustrative or time-lagged, and should not be relied upon as a definitive, real-time clinical or epidemiological source. Always consult official public-health authorities for authoritative guidance.
Mediscanner is not a medical device and is not intended to be one within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices (EU MDR). The Service is not intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, predict, prognose, treat or alleviate any disease, injury or disability.
The symptom checker calculates informational symptom overlap for educational purposes only. It does not provide a diagnosis, a medical assessment, or a recommendation for treatment, and its output must not be interpreted as such.
Nothing on Mediscanner constitutes medical advice. The Service does not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read or saw on Mediscanner.
You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to:
The Service, including its design, code, text and curated datasets, is protected by intellectual-property rights. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial information. Underlying public-health data may be subject to the rights and licences of its original sources (e.g. WHO, ECDC, RIVM), and their terms continue to apply.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mediscanner and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, or your reliance on any information it provides.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. The courts of the Netherlands shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the Service, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
